the beginning

well, hi!

my names amanda, i'm twenty years old and i'm engaged to the most amazing person ever - we've been together for five years. we're also trying to conceive.
we started trying for a baby in june 2011 and soon fell pregnant in august 2011. however exactly two weeks into the pregnancy, i miscarried. it's been seven months since we lost our baby and it still hurts, everyday. i'll tell you the story one day...

all in all, we've been trying for ten months. you name it, we've done it! we're currently trying the 'relaxed' approach, if there is such a thing when you desperately want a child. my thermometer is safely tucked away and i'm not using opk's anymore.. for now! fingers crossed..

my lovely fiance is also joining the australian army in 2013, just a few short months after we get married in april. at best, i'm terrified. the thought of him being deployed saddens me. i don't know what to expect.   i'm not very independent so i guess i have a year to learn? of course i'm proud of him and i will support him 100% but i'm absolutely terrified!
